One in five people in Canada has a mental health problem at some point in life.
But only about 30 per cent seek help. Some people may not know they have a problem. Or they may not know that help is available. Some may not be able to use the help because of barriers like cost, language and transportation.
Others don't seek help because of the stigma (prejudice and discrimination) attached to mental health problems. They feel embarrassed or ashamed. They worry that they will be judged and misunderstood. They worry about being discriminated against.
However, it is important to know that there are services that can help. And the earlier someone gets help, the less chance that the problem will come back or get worse.

Accessible & Affordable
Lots of individuals have experienced barriers to accessing mental health support across Canada include not knowing where to go for help, as well as long wait times. Healing Connection strives to bridge the gap, it’s essential for us to provide accessible and affordable supporting services.
Our Mission
Healing Connection (HC) provides community-based programs to support, educate and advocate better mental and emotional well-being.
This is done through partnership with various counselors/coaches/therapists/healers who can offer a great discount for low-income community members.
We connect individuals and families, during challenging times, with coping skills to build resiliency.
We provide subsidies to cover part of the cost of individual counseling/coaching sessions for individuals with mental health issues who cannot afford the full cost.
